Any sign edit commands around still 😮 ? i tried /signedit but it doesent seem to work 😮 i could just reprotect them and over ride the 2nd line with their name, it has worked before. /signedit i also used on a warp sign and enchant sign and it seemed to work, but if there is a /signedit command still then i will see, because it did work on 1.7.10 😮 but not sure if it will work on 1.8

signs don't store info on the sign exactly, it just appears to because that is how signs used to work..

so just renaming them won't work.. mainly because mojang decided to use uuids to identify a players account, complicated with online and offline id's are both different. Basically now when you place a sign on a chest, it stores not only the players current name, but also there uuid (which means if you're on a premium account then it won't work for the offline one)... so yeh the player name is useless.

just remove unprotected chest signs (or leave a sign with there name on it, or a note in a chest etc)  and place one under your name (ANY STAFF)  if you see any unprotected chests do that!
